Mike McCabe finally had it all come together. A good round would be followed up with a mediocre round. He would putt well, then not putt well. McCabe has been waiting for it to fall into place and it did this week as he posted rounds of 65-69-68 - 203 (-13) at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta. He finished six strokes ahead of three players, Dillon Dougherty, Ross Canavan andJeff Rangel who finished at 208. Kevin Kim finished alone in 5th at 209.
McCabe earned $3,000 for the win and, as a Lamkin Grip players, he receives an additional $500 bonus check from Lamkin Corporation.
SilverRock is the final event in the ROEL Summer Series. Thank you to ROEL construction for its support in 2010. The 2011 series is just around the corner and information will be posted by the end of September.

Kevin Kim Wins ... Again!

It's one thing to get on a roll, but this is impressive. Kevin Kim posted rounds of 69-66-70-205 (-11) to win his second ROEL Summer Series event at Mission Hills CC by two strokes over Seung-su Han (70-71-66 - 207). Eric Meichtry (208) finished alone in third while four players tied for fourth at 209.
With the exception of his third place finish last week at Arrowood GC, Kim has won every GST/ROEL Series event in August. He is a combined 76-under par in 13 rounds of golf during this stretch and has earned $12,550 plus an additional $1,000 bonus from Lamkin Corporation.
The next ROEL Series event is scheduled for next week, August 31-September 2 at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta.

Kang Wins at Arrowood

After a course record tying round (62) in his second round and 128 total for 36-holes, Jason Kang had a two stroke lead over Jason Allred going into the final round. Both players turned in 33, then Allred caught the leader with an eagle on the par-5, 13th hole, then took the lead with a birdie on the par-4, 14th hole. Kang rallied late with a birdie on 17 and a par on 18 as Allred finished par, bogey.
Kevin Kim and Jeff Hart finished in a tie for third at 200, while Trevor Hiebing's final round 63 (201 total) vaulted him into a Top-5 finish.
COURSE CHANGE: The ROEL Summer Series continues next week at Mission Hills CC - Dinah Shore Tournament Course on August 25-27.
